
The gym at Fairhill - Lifestyles in Hamilton is truly inclusive, being suitable for disabled customers as well as able-bodied customers, giving all people within the community the opportunity to participate in physical activity.
After undergoing a significant refurbishment and upgrade in July 2026, the gym now offers an excellent selection of modern fitness equipment, including:
- HUR air resistance machines including chest press, seated row, adductor/abductor, ab curl/back extension, leg press, leg curl/leg extension, push up/pulldown, torso twist and free standing pulley.
- A range of cardiovascular equipment including treadmills, recumbent and upright bikes, arc trainers, stepmill, rowers, and airbikes.
- A variety of resistance machines including, chest press, shoulder press, leg press, seated row, assisted chin and dip, lat pulldown and rear deltoid and pec fly.
- Three Motomed’s, which are bikes allowing people with limited or no leg function to exercise their legs.
- Box12 which is skill-based workouts you can follow to make your gym experience more enjoyable.
- A large area consisting of dumbbells (40kg), multi-functional trainer rack, counterbalanced smith machine, dual adjustable pulley and a sled!
- A multi functional Rig including a dip and step up station as well as suspension training points – it’s a playground for gym goers!
Our highly qualified and motivated staff are on hand to help you meet your goals. They offer a wide range of services included in your Perfect Fit.
The gym is available for customers aged 12 years and over. All under 16s must complete their Perfect Fit (five appointments) at any South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture gym. Twelve and 13 year olds must be accompanied by an adult during times that the gym is unstaffed.
Fairhill - Lifestyles is designed with disability access in mind. The centre has disabled parking (8 spaces), automatic entrance doors, accessible reception and accessible changing area. There is an accessible toilet, courtesy wheelchair, Hearing Loop, Language Line and Typetalk. The gym equipment is also accessible for disability usage. There is a range of machines that can be used to improve your health and fitness. Assistance dogs are welcome.
