South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture presents a special evening of storytelling at The Town House, Hamilton, on 30 October 2025 at 7 pm, featuring Peter MacQueen and Coinneach MacLeod (the Hebridean Baker)

The event launches Peter’s new book Tails of Scotland: The Story of Scottish Dogs, a beautifully illustrated celebration of 14 native breeds, from the noble Deerhound to the spirited Westie. A broadcaster and writer from Oban, Peter is known for his Gaelic TV work and passion for Scotland’s traditions, nature, and animals.

Joining him is bestselling author Coinneach MacLeod, whose Hebridean Baker cookbooks, podcast and TV series have charmed audiences worldwide with recipes, folklore, humour and island life. Together, they’ll share stories, laughter, music and a few Hebridean surprises.

The evening begins with a complimentary Isle of Harris whisky or gin, followed by a session of conversation, recipes and storytelling. Books and Hebridean shortbread will be available to buy and have signed.

On 23rd January 2024 I was diagnosed as being neurodivergent which was kind of a surprise to me, funny enough not to anyone that knows me.

Although surprising this pretty much answered my full life and why I am the way I am.

So, come join me in a show where I’ll give you a first hand insight from my delusional eyes to what goes on in my ever-expanding mind with stories of how I've managed to survive through a life of total confusement to how and why I now prefer to be alone, mostly!

Suitable for 16+

T.Rextasy

The Greatest Hits Tour.

Marc Bolan, with his band T.Rex, was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic stars of the original glam rock era. With Bolan's special ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs, the band had a string of huge hits throughout the 1970s including Love to Boogie, Telegram Sam, Jeepster and 20th Century Boy. T.Rextasy have now been performing around the world for over 20 years, a career that ironically outlives Marc’s very own T.Rex.

The band is now accepted as the world’s only official live tribute band dedicated to Marc Bolan and T.Rex, and the only band endorsed and approved by Marc Bolan’s family, estate, original ex-members of T.Rex, and Bolan’s catalogue management. The band has been described by many as ‘beyond the boundaries of tribute’. Truly a rock’n’roll concert for all ages.

If you would like to know exactly what a Marc Bolan concert was like in the 1970s, this show is for you!

Available to book online or by calling Lanark Memorial Hall on 01555 673199.

Cost: £29.50 (subject to £1.50 transaction fee)
