Customer notice - Blantyre Leisure Centre

Phase 1 Works Complete. Some services will be returning and what’s next for improvements.
The first phase of planned maintenance works is now complete, with some services returning to Blantyre Leisure Centre from Monday 29 September 2025.
The refurbished reception area will reopen and we are pleased to confirm the centre now has library provision in place, meaning you can now access both services under the one roof.
Our games hall will reopen for fitness classes in Courts 1 and 2 and for racquet sport bookings on Courts 3 and 4.
Public swimming will return on a reduced timetable from next week. Please note that the pool will then close again from Monday 3 November 2025 until the new year to allow major improvements to the changing areas, including upgrades to the air handling system, showers, drains, lockers and cubicles. During this time the pool will be closed for public swimming, club use and our swimming lesson programme, which will be paused. Swimming lesson customers will be contacted directly with information about their direct debit.
The gym will remain closed until further notice, with upgrading works planned later this year as part of the wider transformation project. Gym users can continue to access nearby centres, including Jock Stein’s gym from 3pm Monday to Friday and throughout the weekend.
We will continue to provide updates on our website, social media, email and app as the project progresses. Thank you for your patience as we work behind the scenes to bring you an improved leisure and cultural experience.
