The following festive holiday information may be subject to change.

Where sites are open they may be operating on restricted hours and we recommend you phone in advance to check.

Leisure centres

Leisure centres will be closed 24 to 26 December and 31 December to 2 January (excluding Hamilton Water Palace, Fairhill Lifestyles and Larkhall Leisure Centre).

Hamilton Water Palace and Fairhill Lifestyles will be open on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

Larkhall Leisure Centre will be open on Christmas Eve.

Calderglen Zoo

Calderglen Zoo is currently closed for essential works.

Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for progress updates and news on its reopening.

Community halls

Community halls will be closed 21 December - 4 January.

Fairhill Lifestyles will be closed 25 to 28 December and 1 to 3 January, and will be open from 9:00am - 5:00pm on 23, 29 and 30 December and from 9:00am - 2:00pm on 24 and 31 December.

Country parks

Facilities at our country parks will close at 4:00 p.m. on 24 December, and will be closed 25 to 26 December and 31 December to 2 January. Facilities will be open from 10:00am - 4:00pm from 27 to 30 December.

Cultural venues

Carluke Lifestyles will be closed 25 December to 3 January.

East Kilbride Arts Centre will be closed 25 to 26 December and 1 to 4 January.

Fernhill Community Centre will be closed 22 December to 2 January.

Lanark Memorial Hall will close at 3:00pm on 24 December and will be closed 25 December to 4 January.

Rutherglen Town Hall will be closed 25 December to 4 January.

Springhall Community Centre will be closed 22 December to 2 January.

Stonehouse Lifestyles will be closed from 25 December to 4 January.

The Town House Hamilton will be closed 25 to 28 December and 30 December to 4 January.

Village Theatre East Kilbride will be closed on 25 to 26 December and 30 December to 9 January.

East Kilbride ice rink

East Kilbride ice rink will be closed 25 to 26 December and 31 December to 2 January, and will be open shorter hours on other dates. Please check the East Kilbride facilities for details of opening hours over the holiday period.

Golf courses

Golf courses will be closed 25 to 26 December and 1 to 2 January.

Libraries

All libraries will be closed from 25 December to 2 January. Some libraries will have additional closures / limited opening times. Please check the individual library's contact details page for more information.

Low Parks Museum

Low Parks Museum will be closed from 21 December to 6 January.

Hamilton Mausoleum is now closed and will reopen for public tours in February 2026.

Outdoor Resource Base

The Outdoor Resource Base will be closed 24 December to 4 January.

Pitches

Hamilton Palace Sports Grounds will be closed 23 December to 4 January.

Ballerup Recreation Area, Newton Farm Community Wing, and Tileworks, Bent and Lanark Racecourse synthetic pitches will be closed 22 December to 4 January. 

Grass / Blaes pitches will be closed 15 to 19 December and 22 December to 9 January.

SLLC Headquarters

Our Headquarters office will be closed on 25 to 26 December and 1 to 2 January.
